I’ve gone birding there many times to more than a few zero endemic days. It even snowed once! Thanks. Your story brought it all back (my snorkeling, too.)
Congratulations on the I’wii! One of my favorite shots and I’ve only seen one once.
Thank you! Birds are difficult for me because I know they need to be super accurate. I’ve heard enough birders complain about the “plates” in field guides (and for good reason) that it makes me nervous. I have a ways to go but hoping I get better. And yeah, that’s the last shore dive I’ll ever do.
❤️
Jazz and birds is an even tradeoff. What a harrowing adventure under the sea! 😱
Yeah, I'd say it's pretty even too! And let it be known that was my first and last shore dive. Only from the boat from now on.
Would be mine too 😅
You are really, really, really good at this. Love the colors and the details.
Awww, thank you Carmen. 🥰 That means a lot to me. (I just might be getting the hang of this painting stuff.)
I could imagine myself with you & Steve, thanks to your beautiful, descriptive writing. 💜
Loved reading this!! Soooo good. Extra points for "fiery red stamens unfurled! :-)
I put that there just for you. 😘

Snow? Wow!!! Glad it brought back great memories. The ‘I’wii is such a weird-looking bird but oh so worth finding!
I have a great shot. I’ll send when I can. I also merged its head on a photo of my daughter performing ballet. An interesting resulting image.
Ahem, Your bird paintings don’t have to be super accurate. That’s what Sibley’s is for! You can be as creative as you want.
